Welcome to
Fernhurst Junior School
At Fernhurst, we believe that every child deserves an inspiring education, a strong sense of belonging and the confidence to achieve their very best. Our motto, Together Towards Success, captures everything we stand for. By working in partnership with children, families, staff and our wider community, we create an environment where everyone is encouraged to flourish.
The junior years are an incredibly important stage of a child’s education. These four years are filled with opportunities to grow academically, socially and personally, and we are committed to making every day count. We want our children to leave Fernhurst not only with excellent knowledge and skills, but with the resilience, curiosity and self-belief that will prepare them for the next stage of their journey and for life beyond school.
Our curriculum is ambitious, engaging and carefully designed to inspire a lifelong love of learning. We encourage children to ask questions, think critically, embrace challenges and discover their individual talents. Success looks different for every child and we celebrate effort, perseverance and personal achievement just as much as academic excellence.
Relationships are at the heart of everything we do. We know children thrive when they feel safe, respected and valued. Our dedicated staff take the time to know every child as an individual, building positive relationships that nurture confidence, kindness and a genuine sense of belonging. We are equally proud of the strong partnerships we build with parents and carers, recognising that the greatest success comes when we work together.
Life at Fernhurst extends far beyond the classroom. Whether through sport, music, the arts, leadership opportunities, educational visits or our wide range of enrichment activities, we want every child to discover new passions, create lasting memories and develop the confidence to make a positive difference in the world around them.
We are incredibly proud of our Fernhurst family and the caring, ambitious culture we have created together. If you are already part of our community, thank you for your continued support. If you are considering Fernhurst for your child, I warmly invite you to visit us and experience our school for yourself. Nothing compares to seeing our children learning with enthusiasm, showing kindness to one another and demonstrating the confidence that comes from feeling happy, supported and challenged.
I look forward to welcoming you to Fernhurst Junior School and working Together Towards Success.
